Caberlin® is an effective medication which acts as a dopamine receptor agonist. It works by reducing the amount of prolactin (a hormone) that is released from the pituitary gland. Caberlin® is used to reduce or prevent breast milk production, except after childbirth (postpartum), in the treatment of Parkinson`s disease, prolactin-producing tumors, erectile dysfunction and to adjust various hormone levels in certain diseases (ovarian diseases). Caberlin® is manufactured by Cipla.

Active Ingredient:

lactose, leucine

Caberlin® tablets are a dopaminergic medication which contains Cabergoline as the active ingredient.

Cabergoline is used to treat a hormone imbalance in which there is too much prolactin in the blood (also called hyperprolactinemia) which occurs due to the presence of a non-cancerous swelling (tumor) in the pituitary gland.

High blood level of prolactin hormone results in various medical conditions such as persistent breast milk production, lack of a menstrual period, infertility, and other symptoms.

Caberlin® tablets are also used by bodybuilders in professional bodybuilding and weight-training athletes during anabolic steroid cycles to increase muscle mass and decrease the side effects of anabolic steroids such as gynecomastia.

Caberlin® is usually recommended in patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, a mental disorder in which there is a decrease in the transmission of the dopamine neurotransmitter in the brain resulting in symptoms such as body stiffness, shaking (tremor), reduced muscle control, imbalance, and sluggish body movement.

Take Caberlin® by mouth with a full glass of water with or without food.

The recommended dosage of Caberlin® for decreasing prolactin levels is 0.25 mg twice a week.

The dosage of Caberlin® should be gradually increased over the next few months depending on blood levels of prolactin.

Maximum dose of Caberlin® is 1 mg twice a week (according to patient serum prolactin level).

Treatment with Caberlin® should be continued for a period of six months after the blood prolactin level reaches the normal levels.

The recommended dosage of Caberlin® for preventing lactation immediately after childbirth is 1 mg on the first day after delivery.

The recommended daily dosage of Caberlin® to stop breastfeeding is 0.25 mg every 12 hours for 2 days.

Missing a dose

Do not take a double dose. If you miss a dose you should take it as soon as you remember about the missed dose. If it is the time for the next dose you should continue your regular dosing schedule.

If an overdose occurs and you are not feeling well, you should seek emergency medical attention or contact your healthcare provider immediately.

Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F) and away from excess moisture and heat. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date. Keep out of the reach of children.
